A Sevillian Orange Wedding in Mijas

As our Mediterreanean weather started to heat up so did our wedding season and Todd and Teresa´s wedding in the middle of May was set in the beautiful Hacienda San Jose in Mijas and we enjoyed perfect blue skies.

We were all very excited as this was one of our first weddings of the season and we had been working with Todd and Teresa for almost a year, planning and designing their wedding day here in Spain.

Todd and Teresa live in the States and after one flying visit to choose their wedding planners and venue we were hired :)

Carla organised and planned all the logistics and we designed a gorgeous Sevillian Orange theme with rustic influences, using burlap (hessian) table runners, wooden slabs, oranges, white and orange floral arrangements in birch planters, different jars decorated with vintage lace and raffia and an olive oil or jar of olives decorated each place setting.

We have to say though the cake stole the show created by Sweet Things By Fi and we love these photos of the star of the show from Jeremy Standley, very whimsical :)

Our thanks also go to Fiestasol for their wonderful catering and our congratulations to Todd and Teresa.

Sunflowers in Seville Wedding

Wedding season here in Spain is now truly underway with May and June being incredibly popular months here to get married.

We have been working with our wonderful clients from all over the world to help them create their dream wedding day here in Spain.  After months of planning, designing and emails it is very exciting to see all the hard work come together to create a beautiful day.

Here is a sneak peek of our wedding in Sunflower land last weekend!

As we drove up to Seville to the Hacienda San Rafael to spend the weekend with Amanda and Derrick we were overwhelmed with the sight of field after field of sunflowers, it was an amazing sight.  I have to admit after months of designing this wedding my brain was instantly in overdrive as we approached the venue that we had to include this amazing sight into the wedding as well.  It would have been a shame not to!

Luck has it the wedding styling was already a vibrant lemon yellow combined with the turquoise touches and of course the stunning pinks everywhere with the bouganvilla venue, you cannot fight this colour as it grows everywhere at the Hacienda and is a stunning Andalucian colour to add to your wedding details.

We created so many details at this wedding, from the brilliant chalkboard signs created by Izzi, the paddle fans and order of service created by Anoulka, our dressing up box for the photo booth, games on the lawn for the cocktail by the pool.

The whole wedding was beautiful, from the yellow parasols at the ceremony with the wooden chairs and the gorgeous centrepieces and I think the finale had to be the divine cake from Sweet Things by Fi, it was the star of the show!

Our thanks to Amanda and Derrick for booking us and having faith in us planning their destination wedding on email, to Anna Gazda for her beautiful photography, Anthony and his amazing staff at the Hacienda San Rafael that looked after us so well, Carla and Paloma who I think are probably the best planning team here in Spain :) Anoulka and Izzi for their hugely creative input and details, Fi for her beautiful cake, macarons and cookies (yes I managed to steal one!) and to Rob who ensured the wedding partied well and truly into the early hours of the morning!

More photos to come of this stunning wedding and all the other weddings we are currently working on.  We are off up to Seville again this weekend for a very different Sevillian styled wedding with a very Spanish theme :)

Do check back as we update our blog but for more up to date news of our weddings and parties like our facebook page.

Beautiful Vintage Style Chairs for Weddings

When I design weddings I love the different styles we can apply according to the clients and the array of venues we work with.

Villa Padierna, here in Marbella, is famous for Michelle Obama visting and reminds me of a Vegas style Italian themed hotel, lots of marble, fountains and statues that we are forever covering up at weddings! and a very grand, elegant feel to the whole venue.

This weekend we worked very hard to create a beautiful wedding for Rebecca and John, a delightful and charming couple that we had the pleasure of designing their wedding for.

Rebecca, for me, was a challenge, she had a very elegant refined taste that took time for me to know exactly what she wanted and after a few meetings I finally narrowed her down to what she wanted to achieve for her day.

To sum it up it was to be a beautifully, elegant contemporary style wedding but with a vintage, spanish twist using lace and she wanted a huge amount of candle light :)

We kept the design to a stunning ivory and lace theme using lots of different height cylilnder glassware and ivory candles to create a mass in the centre of each table.

The venue was dressed with our fairy lights, candles on the steps, and lanterns surrounding the Linares terrace area.

The highlight for me with Rebecca and John´s wedding was our new gorgeous chair dressing with ivory covers, gorgeous vintage lace chair sashes finished off with some gorgeous hugely sparkly diamante vintage brooches :)

The final result looked stunning and we were thrilled.

We had to just share a chair with you but hopefully we will have all the photos to blog soon as this wedding was so stylish, elegant and beautiful :)

A Wonderful Testimonial from Charla and Chris

There is nothing nicer than waking up to an email like this in our inbox.

It makes all our hard work and attention to details so worthwhile :)

We love our weddings and always go that extra mile and our attention to detail is second to none, we have completely absorbed every detail of our weddings by the time we stamp our couples style on their day!

We loved working with Charla and Chris, all by email from California, and we were delighted to receive this email over the weekend :)

Our huge congratulations to Charla and Chris and thank you for letting us share your very special day and hope we have created many fabulous memories for you both x

Hi Laura,

I just wanted to extend our warmest thanks for your hard work in creating the wedding of our dreams, and the most special day of our lives. Chris and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect and special day. The flowers and decorations were absolutely breathtaking, and every last detail reflected the great amount of time and care that you, Carla, Anoulka and your team put into this wedding. I am so completely amazed how you incorporated every idea that we had, and didn't miss a single detail. I love that you were inspired by some of the ideas and added your own special touches to many of the decorations too! I can't put into words how truly happy we are with the way everything turned out. It was more amazing than I could have ever imagined. For me, it was truly a fairy-tale wedding, and at times, it was so perfect that it felt like a dream.
I'm sorry that we did not get to really meet in person, other than when we were frantically getting ready to head to the church. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for helping create the wedding of our dreams. I feel truly blessed to have found you and Carla, and work with you over the past year to create such a memorable day. I would be honored to write a note and recommendation for you.

Thank you again for sharing your creativity, passion and inspiration (and patience :)!

P.S. Thank you so much for the nice blog you posted on your website about our wedding...it was lovely to read!

Very best,

Charla and Chris

A Gorgeous Wedding in Mijas

We were delighted when Chris and Charla contacted us from California to ask us to organise and style their wedding here in Spain.
Everything was done by email and they put their total trust in us to create a fabulous wedding for them and we of course rose to the challenge :)

Not only did we organise and design Charla and Chris´s wedding day, Carla put together a wonderful Andalucian experience with a fun schedule of events to include a wine tasting at the Parador in Malaga, a paella making competition, a horse and flamenco show and horse back riding in Mijas.

We even had paella themed aprons for the paella competition and were thrilled to see Charla had some gorgeous matching red dress and shoes ;)!

Hop over to our facebook page for more details and to admire the shoes!
Charla and Chris had their charming wedding ceremony at the spectacular Encarnacion Church in Marbella followed by a delightful wedding reception at the Hacienda San Jose.
We loved the whole day, we created a rustic olive bar, a beautiful ´light your way´guest table with lanterns, stunning flowers including some beautiful roses, a candy bar, love quotes in the trees and the gardens were lit with our lanterns, fairy lights and candles to create a magical evening as the sun went down.
Our thanks to Anna Gazda for sharing these beautiful images with us so quickly after the wedding and to Fiestasol for their fabulous catering and Sweet Things by Fi for her gorgeous cake.
We could not achieve our beautiful details without Anoulka, my wonderfully stylish number two stylist who works so hard for me not only styling our weddings but over the past year has excelled herself creating fabulous signs and stationery for us.
Anoulka has now has set up her own website based on many of the details we have provided for our weddings in the past year so do go and check it out if you want some gorgeous details for your wedding :)
